Silkroad, a not-for-profit music organization founded by cellist Yo-Yo Ma in 1998, is seeking a new Executive Director. The organization’s flagship initiative is the Silkroad Ensemble, a touring group of musicians from across the globe whose aim is to co-create a new artistic idiom based on their differing musical styles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Silkroad’s work at the local, national, and international levels. They will oversee strategic coherence, programmatic integration, financial sustainability, and administrative effectiveness, and will be responsible for the organization’s overall strategy.
Candidates should have at least ten years of experience working in management in the nonprofit sector, preferably at a music or social impact organization. They should also have proven experience in fundraising, donor stewardship, and staff development, as well as proven leadership and diplomacy skills.
The salary will be between $200,000 and $250,000. The position comes with an excellent benefits package that includes a flexible work schedule, medical/dental/visual benefits, and more.
