Charles Wesley Godwin’s Selling Out Live Dates, Sets Live EP

It may sound like a mantra at this point, but it bears repeating so often these days: Go see your favorite artists in small and medium venues when you still have the opportunity. This definitely is the case with Charles Wesley Godwin, who is already selling out shows left and right, has some big ones coming up in the weeks and months ahead, as well as a live recorded EP worth getting on your radar.

Godwin will be playing the Grand Ole Opry on February 10th. Tune in via WSM if you can. He’ll also be playing Bully, Bands, and Barrels in Lexington, KY on February 11. Then he’ll be heading out on tour with J.R. Carroll, Josh Meloy, and Tanner Usrey opening select dates, some of which are sold out already. Godwin will also be playing both the Two Step Inn Fest in Texas in April, and the Railbird Festival in Lexington in June, both of which are sold out as well.

But that’s not all the news from the Charles Wesley Godwin camp. On February 17th, he will be releasing an EP called Live from the Church. Recorded with his band The Allegheny High in Pittsburgh last May, it’s not a concert EP as much as playing songs cherished by Godwin in a live setting with no overdubs. This includes Chris Knight’s “The Jealous Kind” which is out now (listen below).

Godwin promises this will not be his next full studio release, which is tentatively slated to come out later this year, but something to tide fans over. And fans are certainly thirsty and rabid, as Godwin is riding the Zach Bryan wave along with his own momentum to sold out shows, and serious support behind his superb songwriting.
