When the Bavarian State Orchestra announced a tour of European music capitals to mark its 500th anniversary some of us were wondering if London would still make the grade.
What with Brexit, economic crisis, a 4-day week at the South Bank and the Arts Council’s levelling down, does London still count as a music metropolis?
Just, apparently.
Concerts are planned from September 7 to 23 in Hamburg, Berlin, Bucharest, London, Paris and Vienna. Vladimir Jurowski conducts.
