Australia Ensemble UNSW 2023 Subscription Concert: On Song

Songs encapsulate some of our deepest emotions, from the despair of John Dowland consoled by Paul Stanhope’s new work, Vaughan Williams’ meditations on life and mortality, through to pure joy in works by Beethoven and Ravel.

Ludwig van BEETHOVEN | Kakadu Variations for Piano Trio in G major, Op. 121a (1803)

Paul STANHOPE | Out of Darkness: Dawn (2021)

Maurice RAVEL | Cinq melodies populaires grecques (1904-6) arr. Vine (2002)

Ralph VAUGHAN WILLIAMS | On Wenlock Edge (1909)
